About Western Independent Bankers (WIB) & WIB Service Corporation
WIB is a trade association that informs, educates and connects community banks with the resources and services to help them reach their goals. We have been committed to the independent banking industry since 1937 offering quality education, professional networking, and products and service information for community bankers in the West. Our subsidiary, WIB Service Corporation, provides high-quality, value-added services and products which enhance the competitive advantage of WIB member banks. We serve 11 Western states and the U.S. Territories including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

1937 - The organization known as the Independent Bankers Association of the 12th Federal Reserve District begins.
1958 - The first Bank Presidents & Senior Officers Policy Seminar is held.
1966 - Independent Bankers Association of the 12th Federal Reserve District becomes Western Independent Bankers Association.
1968 - George Greenwood becomes WIB Executive Manager.
1976 - James M. Bacigalupi becomes WIB Executive Manager.
1978 - WIB introduces a new logo and drops "Association."
1983 - John Bednerik becomes WIB Executive Director.
1988 - Nancy Sheppard becomes WIB Executive Director (now President/CEO).
1995 - WIB establishes for-profit subsidiary WIB Service Corporation.
1997 - www.wib.org is launched.
1998 - WIB introduces a new logo.
2005 - WIB & WIB Service Corporation introduce new logos.
2007 - The 50th Anniversary of the Annual Conference for Presidents, Senior Officers & Directors.
2008 - The new wib.org website is launched.
2010 - A new flagship conference, Educational Summit & Expo is launched.
