Privacy Policy

In these times of increasing technological developments, WIB is sensitive to your privacy concerns and wants to make sure you understand how we treat the information you provide us. The following Privacy Policy explains WIB's information gathering and dissemination practices. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy. WIB reserves the right at any time and without notice to change this Privacy Policy simply by posting such changes on our Site. Any such change will be effective immediately upon posting.

What Information We Collect and How We Use That Information

In order to register for our programs online, update your personal account, access WIB iConnect or otherwise interact with our Site (each, a "Dynamic Transaction"), you must first be registered with WIB. That information is stored in WIB's membership database. If you have attended a WIB event, your information is most likely in our database. If not, you will need to create an account on www.wib.org.

Collected Information

WIB’s membership database requires you to provide contact information that includes your name, firm, e-mail address, address, phone, fax and other such standard information that is typical for the particular Dynamic Transaction ("Collected Information").  

We collect your credit card information when you register online for a program or use our store, but WIB does not store your credit card information.

Use of Collected Information by WIB

We use Collected Information in our membership database and iConnect personal account to send you  WIB-generated communications, emails and other correspondence from other iConnect users, and emails and other correspondence as a result of your activities or interaction with WIB. We may also provide Collected Information to third parties that WIB has contracted with to administer WIB programs and services. If you do not wish to receive emails from us, please use the unsubscribe feature on these emails, update your personal account preferences in our membership database, or contact us directly.

If you register for a WIB program, your name will be included on a list of attendees which may be distributed to all conference attendees. The purpose of this list is to encourage networking and individual follow up. This list is not intended to be used for unsolicited commercial or bulk-email purposes, although we do not have control over the use of such information by others. If you wish to be excluded from any attendance list, email education@wib.org.

A list of WIB bank members, including our main contact with bank address and phone number, will appear on our website. A directory listing of all Associate Members appears on our website. If you do not want your bank or firm listed, please contact membership@wib.org. 

We will never sell or rent your information to a third party.

We may be compelled to disclose personal information, including Collected Information, by applicable law, including responding to subpoenas or requests by law enforcement personnel. We will disclose such information if we believe that it is necessary to comply with a court order, ongoing judicial proceeding, subpoena, or other legal process brought in any jurisdiction or to protect our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

We may also disclose Collected Information or other personal information to a third party as part of a reorganization, sale or merger of WIB or any of its assets ("Successor"). The Successor will have the right to continue to use the personal and other information, including the Collected Information, that you provide to us.

As with most sites that have passwords, if users have cookies enabled on their own systems, they will utilize the cookies on our site. Our site uses cookies to make your sign-in easier. 

Security

All information provided to WIB is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a widely-used coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our Site that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of WIB. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.

Our Site contains links to other Web sites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another Web site for which WIB has no responsibility. We encourage you to read the privacy statements on all such sites as their policies may be different than ours.
