Presenter: Jose Alonso has responsibility for the Federal Reserve Bank's safety and soundness field examiners, centralized scheduling and the examinations support unit. He joined the FRB San Francisco in 1983 as an Assistant Trust Examiner and reaching the level of Senior Trust Examiner. He transferred to the Los Angeles Commercial Bank Examination Unit in 1989 as a Supervising Examiner. In 1994, he established and managed the Reserve Bank's Enforcement Unit responsible for overseeing state member bank and bank holding companies under formal and informal enforcement action. In 1996, he transferred to the Foreign Bank Supervision Unit and in 2002 became a Director in the Regional & Community Bank Group responsible for supervising a portfolio of state member banks and bank holding companies located in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, utah and Hawaii.
