General Sessions

Leadership

Hitting a Homerun in Leadership: A Success Story from the Baseball Diamond to the Board Room
Through humor and insight, we’ll illustrate the characteristics of great leaders, demonstrating how to lead and motivate various types of people and personalities. Learn about yourself and gain a deeper understanding of how to motivate and lead customers, teammates, managers and anyone else you may come into contact with. Whether applying this to your business or to your personal life, you’ll leave knowing how to bring out the best in yourself so that you can bring out the best in others.

Innovation

Using Disruptive Innovation to Increase Customer Demand
Our expert speaker will share new findings on consumer needs, the role of the bank in serving those needs and how to affect profitability by increasing demand. With insight, tools and examples, our speaker takes the audience through a process of exploring his or her own organization’s success and how to shape a differentiating and thriving position for the bank in the future.

Brand Loyalty

Lessons from a Leader
Branding is a transformative process that must be embraced within every aspect of the organization and carried throughout the customer experience. Brand loyalty is a reciprocal relationship that begins with the business and ends with loyalty from your customer. We’ll hear from a representative of one of the world’s top brands about how your bank can begin a transformative process that builds your brand reputation so that it may establish a lasting position in the marketplace.

Economic Forecast

The Economics of a Whole New World in Community Banking
A refreshing spin on an economic update for 2013 and beyond. We’ll shift your point of view and provide a new perspective on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in this whole new world of community banking.

Working Group Peer Sessions (new for 2013!)

New for 2013, Working Group Peer Sessions leverage the experience of attendees to build practical takeaway tools that can be implemented at your bank.

Talent Management Dashboard Workgroup

Talent Management is described as the science of using strategic HR to improve business value and make it possible for companies and organizations to reach their goals. It includes all elements of strategic workforce planning: recruiting, employee retention, professional development, rewards programs and performance management. You’ll work with peers to review current Talent Management Dashboard models and pull together a “best-in-class” dashboard that manages your bank’s talent in the best way possible.

Business Resumption Workgroup

We’ll provide practical guidance and preparedness for worst-case scenarios that cause significant business disruptions. Gain awareness into the stability and readiness of your bank’s current continuity plan. You will take away guidance on how to measure the critical components of your plan and test your bank’s ability to recover. By the end of this drill, you’ll be able to validate what your organization is doing right and reveal critical areas where you can improve your total disaster recovery plan.

Merger & Acquisition Workgroup

Using market data and scenarios, you’ll be joined by real-world investment bankers and M&A attorneys who will “consult” with you and assist in making the right decision for both shareholders and employees. You’ll walk away with a better understanding of what is needed when considering
a merger or acquisition in the community banking space.

Risk Assessment Dashboard Workgroup

This hands-on exercise provides an opportunity to create a Risk Assessment Dashboard, designed to provide a quantitative and qualitative analysis for identifying and evaluating key risk categories. Explore the options and define the process so that you are able to develop best practices for your bank.
