The risk governance associated with the BSA/AML continues to intimidate many individuals and especially board members within the community banking industry today. They struggle to understand what BSA means, how to design a suitable program based on their own size and complexity and what value can be expected in return. In this session you will be provided with practical instruction and best practice examples that will help guide your board in the oversight of your bank’s BSA program. This program meets the annual requirements for BSA training.
Learning Objectives
- Learn the role and ever increasing responsibilities of the board
- Know what questions you should ask and issues to look for
- How to identify support programs your bank should have
- Know what internal controls are required and appropriate
- How to develop an independent testing program
- How best to deal with the regulatory avalanche
- Know what changes are on the horizon and how these changes will impact your bank
