Our program is bound to be a success with some of the speakers and topics that our planning committee has put together.
CDR Scott Waddle, our
kick-off speaker, is a former commander of
the submarine that surfaced in Hawaii and collided with a Japanese fishing
vessel killing nine people on board. CDR Waddle took responsibility for
the accident against the advice of his attorney and the Navy. He will
present "Failure is Not Final."
Dr. Janet Yellen, newly appointed President and CEO of the Federal Reserve
Bank of San Francisco and former member of the Federal Reserve
Board of Governors, will give her views on current conditions in
the economy as well as on conditions in the banking industry,
along with some perspectives on supervision and regulatory issues.
Topics for the Conference include compensation, stock options, risk management, and investments. Back by popular request are several of your favorites: Cass Bettinger, Jeff Gerrish, Scott McDonald, John Callos, and Ed Krei. We will have four directors sessions including the FDIC's "Mock CAMELS Exam".
