Established in 1937, Western Independent Bankers has been the resource for community banks in the west to thrive. Our core purpose is to offer outstanding educational and leadership development and to provide superior peer networking opportunities. We do this by connecting bankers, educating leaders and potential leaders, and informing various generations of the bank. WIB has more independent bank members than any banking association in the West.

WIB serves 13 Western states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and U.S. Territories.

How is WIB Different than a Traditional Banking Trade Association?

WIB focuses on the success of independent bankers and helping to improve individual and bank performance. While governmental relations are of paramount importance to other banking associations, WIBís low membership fees allow banks to participate in the WIB network for education, networking, and valuable product & services information, while also supporting their state association for the purpose of lobbying and legislative issues.
